Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 3rd district since 2023, recently shared her views on several topics via social media. Born in Harris County, Texas in 1988 and currently residing in Washougal, Perez has been active in addressing issues relevant to her constituents.
On May 9, 2025, Perez emphasized the importance of mail delivery services for rural communities. She stated that “Timely, reliable mail delivery can be a lifeline for folks, especially in rural communities.” Perez advocated for ensuring the United States Postal Service (USPS) is financially stable without compromising rural delivery services.
Later that day, she reflected on infrastructure and community values through a quote on the I-5 Bridge. Perez remarked that “There’s a quote on the I-5 Bridge, and it encapsulates the power of building things that last, matter, and are a reflection of our values.” She highlighted the pride and heritage present in trades within Southwest Washington.
On May 11, 2025, Perez extended Mother’s Day wishes to mothers across Southwest Washington. She acknowledged their contributions by stating “#HappyMothersDay to moms across Southwest Washington! Your patience, resilience, and grit make our communities and young people better off.” She also expressed her commitment to advocating for support for mothers.
