U.S. Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, who serves Washington’s 3rd district, recently shared updates on her official social media regarding local engagements and federal funding for Southwest Washington.
On April 9, Gluesenkamp Perez posted about a visit with the U.S. Coast Guard: “It was an incredible privilege to spend an afternoon with the patriots of the U.S. Coast Guard at Cape Disappointment and Air Station Astoria. They are the people we want in the water during an emergency and I came away reminded again how fortunate we are to have brave,” she wrote.
The following day, April 10, she highlighted a meeting with Washougal city officials: “My friends from the City of Washougal. We share the same priorities in getting the 32nd St Rail Crossing project across the finish line and had a great talk about building water system upgrades and ensuring our water utilities and ratepayers don’t have to bear the brunt of PFAS”.
On April 12, Gluesenkamp Perez commented on new federal funding: “This is welcome news for us in Southwest Washington. I’m grateful to federal partners and to our local leaders who are putting in the work to make sure this money lands where it’s needed most. My office stands ready to provide assistance.”
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez has represented Washington’s 3rd district since replacing Jaime Herrera Beutler in 2023. She resides in Washougal and was born in Harris County, Texas, in 1988. Gluesenkamp Perez graduated from Reed College with a BA in 2012.
