Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, who represents Washington’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on July 23, 2025, addressing recent legislative actions and decisions in Congress.

In a post from July 23, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez stated her opposition to a recissions package, writing, “Last week, I again voted against a partisan recissions package that embodies Washington, D.C.’s misplaced priorities. This legislation failed to offer a real, long-term strategy to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in federal programs or to cut red tape so civil servants can do”.

Later that day, she commented on Congressional support for military personnel: “One of Congress’s most important responsibilities is supporting the brave men and women serving in our military and keeping them out of harm’s way. I voted with my bipartisan colleagues in the House last week to pass a funding bill that extends robust support for our Armed”.

In another post on July 23, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez criticized Congressional handling of the Epstein Files issue: “The Majority couldn’t decide what to do about the Epstein Files, so they sent Congress home early. The Approps Committee called off too, meaning they conveniently won’t vote tmw on my amendment requiring the files to be released to Congress. This isn’t a partisan issue, it’s”.

Marie Gluesenkamp Perez has served as the representative for Washington’s 3rd District since 2023 after succeeding Jaime Herrera Beutler. She was born in Harris County, Texas in 1988 and currently resides in Washougal. Perez graduated from Reed College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2012.
