U.S. Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, who serves Washington’s 3rd district in Congress, recently highlighted local events and achievements in a series of social media posts.
On August 1, 2025, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez invited Secretary Duffy to visit Skamania County for an upcoming event and to discuss infrastructure needs: “The Skamania County Timber Carnival is coming up. @SecDuffy, I know you’re a speed climbing championship winner. Want to come check out our timber communities and see the importance of the I-5 Bridge project firsthand?”
Later that day, she celebrated local traditions and history by sharing information about a unique aspect of Tenino’s heritage: “It’s so cool to see skills being used to show pride in our history and heritage. Learn more about Tenino’s wooden money:” (August 1, 2025).
On August 4, 2025, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez praised young people from her district for their accomplishments at a national competition: “I’m so proud of the students in Southwest Washington who’ve placed at the national @SkillsUSA conference. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to test out their career-ready skills – and competitions like these are how we honor hands-on work in our next generation.”
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez has represented Washington’s 3rd congressional district since replacing Jaime Herrera Beutler in 2023. She was born in Harris County, Texas in 1988 and currently resides in Washougal. Perez earned her BA from Reed College in 2012.
