U.S. Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, who serves Washington’s 3rd district in Congress, recently shared a series of posts on social media addressing Labor Day celebrations, veteran support in Cowlitz County, and child protection efforts.
On September 1, 2025, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez posted about her participation in local Labor Day events: “Today, I joined the Southwest Washington Central Labor Council and the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Labor Council to celebrate Labor Day.
I’m grateful to the hard-working men and women in Southwest Washington who keep our lights on, our communities safe, and work with their hands to build https://t.co/0e9YrfYyyf“
The following day, she highlighted the contributions of community members supporting veterans: “We owe our veterans not only our gratitude but also our action, and Rich and Rhonda Black are a prime example of that.
They’re supporting Cowlitz County veterans however they can – from the everyday, like organizing their neighbors to pitch in to help with a car payment or roof https://t.co/xAI8DNdkHT” (September 2, 2025).
On September 3, 2025, Gluesenkamp Perez expressed her stance on child protection laws: “I signed. We need to go after all child predators. A powerful last name and fancy lawyers shouldn’t give anyone a free pass to hurt kids. https://t.co/4gNQX4BwM7”
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez has represented Washington’s 3rd District since replacing Jaime Herrera Beutler in 2023. She was born in Harris County, Texas in 1988 and currently resides in Washougal. Perez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Reed College (2012).
