U.S. Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, who represents Washington’s 3rd district in Congress, recently highlighted local community leaders and public works employees through a series of posts on her social media account.
On August 28, 2025, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez posted about Doug Paulson, writing, “Doug Paulson, or as many know him “Coach Doug,” is a true example of patriotism, service, and dedication. For 33 years, Doug served as a Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy, and he’s also been a leader with Southwest Washington Police Activities League, where he has coached hundreds”.
The following day on August 29, she shared appreciation for public works employees during a visit to the Carol J. Curtis Well Field with Clark Public Utilities District (PUD), stating “Public works folks are some of my favorite people. I enjoyed visiting the Carol J. Curtis Well Field with Clark PUD and seeing these talented people in action. Every day, the well field adds millions of gallons of clean and reliable water to Clark County households and”.
Later that same day, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez acknowledged constituents who attended her recent town hall in Longview: “I appreciate everyone who came out to my recent town hall in Longview to let me know what’s front of mind for you and your families. I enjoyed answering your questions about how we can better manage the sea lion population, concerns about mill closures in the region, and impacts”.
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez began representing Washington’s 3rd congressional district after replacing Jaime Herrera Beutler in 2023. She was born in Harris County, Texas in 1988 and currently resides in Washougal. In addition to her congressional duties since 2023, she holds a BA from Reed College (FACTS 1-4).
