U.S. Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, who serves Washington’s 3rd district, has recently highlighted her legislative efforts and community engagements in a series of posts on social media.
On August 7, 2025, Gluesenkamp Perez addressed ongoing initiatives in Pacific County: “In Pacific County, I’m fighting for investments in healthcare, our fishermen, and critical wastewater infrastructure to help keep your utility rates down. These funds are now through the Appropriations Committee, & I’ll keep working to make it a reality.”
The following day, she turned attention to challenges facing rural education. On August 8, 2025, she wrote: “Our kids are starting a new school year, but our rural schools have been left out to dry. The SRS program expired, and our timber counties have already laid off teachers & halted road projects. Congress must act now, and our kids deserve a long-term fix.”
Later that same day, Gluesenkamp Perez recognized local service members: “Congratulations to @VancouverPDUSA Officer Nick Copley for retiring from the U.S. Navy. Thank you for serving not only your community, but also your country. It was an honor to be able to fly such an important flag over the U.S. Capitol.”
Gluesenkamp Perez began representing Washington’s 3rd district in Congress in 2023 after succeeding Jaime Herrera Beutler. She was born in Harris County, Texas in 1988 and currently resides in Washougal. She holds a BA from Reed College (2012).
