Great to have law enforcement from Vancouver and Clark County for a late-night Capitol tour!”

Later that day, she expressed gratitude towards law enforcement officers serving in her district, emphasizing her commitment to supporting them. In her tweet at 19:12 UTC, she wrote, “Thank you to all of the law enforcement officers serving communities across #WA03. This #NationalPoliceWeek, I was grateful to have had the opportunity to meet many of you and hear how I can best support your efforts. Having high-quality officers and fully staffed departments”.

The following day, May 18, Perez addressed the critical role of correction officers within the justice system and advocated for enhanced mental health resources and addiction treatment access for detainees. Her tweet stated, “Correction officers are core to our justice system, yet they receive little recognition for the difficult work they do. By strengthening mental health resources for officers and ensuring detainees access addiction treatment, we can help them do their jobs more safely and”.
