Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, who represents Washington’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates about her legislative activities and personal moments on social media.
On July 17, 2025, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez posted about a brief interruption during her committee work, writing, “Had to pop out of Committee to vote, and Uma enjoyed her furst ride on the House Subway.” On the same day, she commented on new federal legislation addressing fentanyl abuse: “Yesterday, President Trump signed the HALT Fentanyl Act into law which will help us fight this crisis in SW Washington. Gluesenkamp Perez has served as U.S. Representative for Washington’s 3rd district since 2023 after succeeding Jaime Herrera Beutler. She was born in Harris County, Texas in 1988 and currently resides in Washougal. The congresswoman is an alumna of Reed College, where she earned a BA in 2012.
