Bryson Collins finished 5-over as part of a historic 54-hole tournament at Wine Valley Golf Course. Collins carded a 2-under in the final round to earn him the lowest-ever 54-hole tournament score in program history, beating the previous record set by his brother, Brendan Collins, at the Coastal Collegiate Classic back in 2018.

“Our men did a fantastic job remaining steely in a tough field of competitors,” said head coach Mike Kearbey. “The pin placements were popular locations in past Northwest Opens at Wine Valley Golf Course, and managing the course was imperative to find great scoring opportunities. For the most part, we did that.”

Team Score:  5th Place (+53)

Highlights:

  • A trio of Wolves etched their names onto the top ten lowest-ever in program history. Bryson Collins (-2), Jamison Collins (-1), and Casey Shearer, playing as an individual, (+1) all recorded their low rounds in the final round of the tournament.
  • Two of the three rounds Walla Walla carded were program records. B. Collins (-2), J. Collins (-1), Klayson Matheson (+2), and Eli Fautheree (+9) helped the Wolves shoot 8-over in the final round, which was the lowest-ever team round in program history and helped the Wolves land the second-lowest 54-hole tournament score (+53).
  • No.16-Ranked Lewis-Clark State College (LCSC) claimed both the individual medalist (Carlos Davila) and first place, as Davila shot 4-under to lead the Warriors to the tournament win.
  • Multnomah University (+20) and Montana Tech (+23) rounded out the top three, finishing 20-plus strokes behind first-place LCSC.
