Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington’s 3rd district since 2023, recently highlighted local events and community achievements in a series of posts on her social media account.
On July 21, 2025, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez congratulated a young community member and acknowledged law enforcement efforts in Centralia: “There’s a new sheriff in town. Congrats, Roman, on being named Police Chief for a day, and thank you to all of our dedicated law enforcement officers in Centralia for making it happen.”
Later that same day, she marked an important milestone for the city: “Centralia is 150 years old! We’ve got a lot to celebrate, and a lot to fight for, for years to come.”
On July 22, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez emphasized the importance of vocational training among youth in Southwest Washington: “Our communities are best served when skills are passed down and talented young people enter the trades. Across Southwest Washington, students in @SkillsUSA are showing off their gifts and taking pride in their craftsmanship.”
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez was born in Harris County, Texas in 1988 and currently resides in Washougal. She graduated from Reed College with a BA in 2012. Her election to Congress marked the replacement of former representative Jaime Herrera Beutler.
