Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, serving in the U.S. Congress for Washington’s 3rd district since 2023, recently shared updates on her activities and advocacy through social media. Born in Harris County, Texas, in 1988, and a graduate of Reed College with a B.A., Perez currently resides in Washougal.

On April 4, 2025, she posted about a meeting with representatives from the City of La Center. She tweeted, “It’s always great to have the @CityofLaCenter stop by! They shared an update on their Downtown 2.0 project to plan for future growth – and we discussed ways I can best support local infrastructure and economic needs.”

Following this, on April 5, 2025, Perez emphasized her commitment to engaging with her constituents. She stated, “It’s important for me to show up everywhere and hear from the biggest swath of my community that I can. I’ve held 13 town halls in all of our counties, and I’m working to schedule more. Stay in touch here, or subscribe at https://t.co/GBx65CM81Z to hear about upcoming events.”

In another post on the same day, Perez addressed a concern regarding public safety. She expressed, “Cancelled courses at the National Fire Academy and Emergency Management Institute undermine our public safety and efforts of local fire departments. I joined 65 of my bipartisan colleagues to demand answers from DHS and FEMA.”
