ASOTIN COUNTY REGIONAL LANDFILL: Offering Temporary Convenience Dumpster for Residents

Curb it recycling st johns newfoundland yard waste

Asotin County Regional Landfill recently issued the following announcement.

Starting April 1st the Asotin County Regional Landfill will offer a temporary convenience dumpster for residents in need of emergency disposal of household solid waste. The dumpster will be located near the recycling bins at the entrance to the landfill. This service will be provided with the following restrictions:

 Waste shall be limited to two bags of household solid waste.

 No yard waste, nonperishable, or un-bagged waste will be accepted.

 All charges for this temporary service will be waived.

 The site will be monitored 24-7 to deter any illegal dumping.

 Proper social distancing of six feet will be required while dumping.

 The convenience dumpster will only be available during regular landfill operating hours.  Landfill staff will not be available to assist in any dumping into the dumpster. In the event that members of the public abuse this free convenience, the service will be withdrawn.

Like many residents of Asotin County, the Regional Landfill staff has struggled to adapt operations to the ever changing social distancing measures enacted. Landfill staff appreciate the public’s understanding during these trying times.

Residents who require larger quantities of solid waste to be disposed of are encouraged to contact private disposal services who are accepting new residential pickup requests.
