WALLA WALLA COUNTY TREASURER: Walla Walla County Treasurer to Offer Property Tax Payment Plan Options for Those Financially Impacted by Covid-19

Tax

Walla Walla County Treasure issued the following announcement on April 1.

The Board of County Commissioners has received numerous inquiries relative to an extension of the payment of property taxes due April 30, 2020.

Under state law, RCW 84.56.020(10), “During a state of emergency declared under RCW 43.06.020(12), the county treasurer, on his or her own motion or at the request of any taxpayer affected by the emergency, may grant extensions of the due date of any taxes payable under this section as the treasurer deems proper.” County Treasurer Gordon Heimbigner is working on payment plan options for those who have been financially impacted by COVID-19, taking into consideration both the taxpayers and taxing districts, and those options will be available next week on the county’s website at https://co.walla-walla.wa.us/departments/treasurer/index.php. These are unchartered circumstances so your patience during these challenging times is appreciated.
