Small businesses affected by COVID-19 in Walla Walla, Wash. are up for another round of grants, this time $250,000 from the second installment of Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) funding.
Any business within the city limits that has 0 to 50 employees is eligible to apply for a grant of up $10,000, according to a press release by the City of Walla Walla. Qualifications for eligibility were made purposely expansive in order that as many businesses as possible could receive benefit from this second round of CARES money.
To apply, the city has made an online application form available in English and Spanish. The application window is ongoing until Oct. 13, when it closes at 5 p.m. The city’s Finance Committee and representatives from the Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce will evaluate applications.
These grants are not to be confused with upcoming grants from the county or the recent Port of Walla Walla’s Working Washington Small Business Grants 2.0.
Successful applicants will be notified by the city via a grant award letter no later than the week of Oct. 26.
