The second phase of the Library Exterior Restoration Project is complete. The City’s contractor, Garland/DBS with Northern Pacific Roofing & Construction, completed the roof
waterproofing phase last week. The existing roof was repaired in several locations and then fully sealed with a fluid-applied waterproofing system designed to restore and upgrade
the performance of the existing roof. The new system increases the lifespan of the roof, creates a complete membrane to prevent leaks, and the bright white reflective finish
provides energy savings through reduced cooling costs. The final phase of the project will be completed this summer and will consist of metal work, including repairing the urns on
the iconic cupola. Enjoy these before and after photos of the library roof.
