Another heatwave

Another heatwave:

Key points:

*Beginning August 6th, another heatwave is expected.

*Overnight lows are expected to begin warming by the weekend, resulting in little overnight relief.  It is very likely that low temperatures will be greater than 65 degrees Sunday

night.

Forecast:

*Saturday – average temperature of 89 degrees expected, high of 94.

*Sunday – average temperature of 98 degrees expected, high of 102. Overnight temps of greater than 60-65 degrees is very probable.

*Monday – average near 90 degrees, high of 100.

Impacts:

*Prolonged exposure to heat can result in heatstroke or heat exhaustion.

*Homeless, the elderly, children and those already with health issues are the most at risk.

*Warm nights provide little relief and compound the effects from the heat.
