A Clarkston Heights home was destroyed by fire Sunday evening.
Asotin County Fire District #1 firefighters were called to a house on fire in the 2200 block of Valley View Drive, with possible explosions at about 6:45pm.
When the first crews arrived, the whole front of the double wide manufacted home was burning. There was smoke and flames coming from the windows and doors.
The residents, who recently moved into the house, were not home at the time of the fire.
Lewiston Fireighters and Clearwater Paper firefighters helped attack the fire though local auto-aid agreements.
Crews had the fire under control within about 20 minutes. Chief Hardin wanted to remind people when approaching a fire scene in your vehicle to not drive over any fire hose. Hardin said charged fire hoses are the firefighters lifeline and if someone drives over a fire hose it can put everyone in danger.
Asotin County Sheriff's Deputies and a Washington State Patrol officer helped block the road while firefighters worked on the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and there were no reported injuries.
