Whitman County had unemployment rate of 7.4% in 2021

Whitman County recorded an unemployment rate of 7.4% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,849 people out of the 48,197 living in Whitman County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Whitman County has decreased compared to the 8.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Whitman County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5%.

Of the 23,038 people who had a job during that time, 104 were employed in the Armed Forces and 22,934 belonged to the civilian labor force.
