Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, representing Washington's 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, has been vocal about her initiatives and legislative efforts through social media. Born in Harris County, Texas, in 1988, and a graduate of Reed College, Perez now resides in Washougal.

On February 20, 2025, Rep. Perez highlighted the importance of semiconductor manufacturing for national security and economic competitiveness. She expressed satisfaction with her role in directing funds to bolster semiconductor production and support local jobs in Southwest Washington.
