Pacific County is starting a second round of $200,000 in grants

Pacific County recently awarded approximately $200,000 in grants to local small businesses and nonprofit organizations struggling in the midst of the economic crisis created by COVID-19 restrictions.

The Pacific County CARES grant program awarded grants to 24 small businesses and nonprofit organizations following a special meeting of the Pacific County Board of Commissioners, according to coverage by the Chinook Observer. 

The county is looking to prioritize businesses that missed out on previous coronavirus relief programs, according to the Chinook Observer. A previous county grant program awarded $200,000 to 23 local small businesses in September.

Companies and nonprofits receiving funding include: Alliance for a Better Community, Beach Barons Car Club, Beach Bum Diaper Bank, Coastal Alliance for Youth, Friends of the South Bend Library, Harbor Association of Volunteers for Animals, Ilwaco Sports Boosters, Kiwanis Club of South Bend, North Pacific County Food Bank, Pacific County Guns and Hoses, Peninsula Players, Peninsula R&B Festival, Raymond Elks Lodge No. 1292, Willapa Bay Public Market, Willapa Harbor Health Foundation, Willapa Harbor Lions Club, CoHo Charters & Motel, Columbia River Marine Construction, Columbia River Roadhouse, Old Willapa Bay Talo, Raymond Consignment Shop, RV Park at the Bridge, Sea Quest Fishing, and Shoalwater Bay Construction.
