Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, serving Washington's 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently addressed several community and infrastructure issues through a series of tweets. Her communications highlighted her ongoing efforts to support local industries and improve essential services in Southwest Washington.

On February 7, Rep. Perez shared her concerns about the timber industry, stating that "Harvesting and moving timber is how we prevent wildfire, build houses, and support family-wage jobs." She noted that log truck operators face challenges due to industry declines and excessive red tape, making it difficult for small family operations to thrive or even start.

The following day, on February 8, she announced efforts to address water flow issues on Puget Island by securing funds for an alternate water source without increasing rates. She commended Wahkiakum PUD for their dedication to high-quality work, expressing appreciation for their efforts: "Wahkiakum PUD has a small but mighty team that takes pride in doing high-quality work – it was cool to see their work firsthand."

In another tweet on February 8, Rep. Perez reported her success in obtaining significant funding for local projects: "I’ve now helped bring back home more than $12.9 million for water and wastewater projects across Southwest Washington." This announcement underscores her commitment to enhancing infrastructure in her district.
