Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 3rd district, communicated her efforts through a series of tweets on April 14 and 15, 2025. Her posts addressed the pressing issues faced by her constituents, specifically pertaining to Social Security, the welfare of seniors, and veterans' benefits.

In a post on April 14, 2025, Perez highlighted her commitment to addressing issues with the Social Security Administration. She stated, "My team is able to help if you’re having issues or delays with the SSA, and we've already recovered $1.3M owed to constituents from Social Security." She encouraged constituents to seek assistance via phone, online form, or by visiting her offices in Vancouver or Kelso.

Later that same day, she addressed concerns regarding the welfare of seniors, tweeting, "Our seniors spent their lives working hard to pay into this system, and these checks are a cornerstone to a dignified retirement – so it’s critical our gov't holds up its promise." She affirmed her ongoing fight against cuts affecting older Americans.

On April 15, Perez shifted her focus to veterans, emphasizing the need for practical support beyond verbal thanks. She tweeted, "It's not enough to thank veterans for their service. We need to back it up with action." Her advocacy includes pushing for bipartisan legislation aimed at ensuring veterans in Washington's 3rd district access their entitled benefits and opportunities after returning home.

Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, serving since 2023, succeeded Jaime Herrera Beutler, representing Washington's 3rd district. She was born in Harris County, Texas, holds a BA from Reed College, and resides in Washougal.
