Perez highlighted her contribution to the initiative by securing $500,000 to support their mission of aiding agricultural producers in Washington's 3rd district connect with necessary infrastructure and resources.
On April 20, Perez extended holiday wishes to her constituents, saying "Happy Easter, Southwest Washington! Wishing you a beautiful Sunday with your loved ones, from my family to yours." This message served to foster a sense of community during the festive period.
The next day, April 21, Perez reflected on the challenges encountered in rural areas saying, "Living in a rural community, I know how difficult it can be to find high-quality childcare." She announced the initiation of construction at the Dylan Jude Harrell Community Center, specifically mentioning her support for securing the necessary permits allowing the project to commence.
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, 34, was born in Harris County, Texas, in 1988, and currently resides in Washougal. She graduated from Reed College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Since taking office in Washington's 3rd district, Perez has been an advocate for community development and family-centered initiatives.
